Moore Arts Movement Theater Company

Today it was in my heart to write about my experience with the Moore Arts Movement Theater Company. This company is run by my former music teacher Mr. Anthony Moore and his wife Selentia Moore. I attribute my confidence and leadership skills because God had put Mr. Moore in my life over 20 years ago. He (Mr. Moore) saw something in me that I didn't see myself, he saw a leader, and a confident teen, which I felt I wasn't at the time. He pushed my limits and elected me to be the leader of the band (drum major) and I kept that title for two years. Because of his push and belief in me, I, today, am still a confident leader, business woman, great mom, friend and daughter.

Fast forward 20 years, my oh my, the power of the internet! Mr. and Mrs. Moore had relocated to Atlanta some years ago, and I had reconnected with the Moores through his beautiful wife Selentia Q. Moore via Facebook. We chatted a couple of times and always spoke about wanting to reconnect in person. Mrs. Moore (who I affectionately call "Mama Moore") started sharing these wonderful videos of her children dancing for the Lord, and I was so touched and inspired that I would log on to Facebook in hopes that she had posted a new video of them. This dance group was the Moore Arts Movement Theater Company.

SOAR!!!

On April 12, the Moore Arts Movement (MAM) Theater Company, the children whom I've been touched by for so long will be debuting their Youth Empowerment TV Show on WATC Channel 57 in Atlanta!!! 

Just recently, during my trip to Atlanta in February with DFinney Photography, I see a reply to a FB post asking me to to Mrs. Moore's makeup for the opening of MAM's TV show!! I check my schedule, and realize that I am INDEED available!! All I could think was what an honor and truly a blessing to be a part of this movement!! My visit was a huge surprise to Mr. Moore and the look of surprise on his face was indeed priceless!! Congratulations to the Moores on this awesome venture!!! I love you guys!!

Working with DFinney Photography and Design

Many people have asked me, "How did you start working with DFinney Photography?", or they say "I LOVE DFinney's work how can I shoot with you all?" Well, let me give you the scoop! I met Danielle of DFinney Photography through a client of hers whom I had done makeup for. After I saw the shots of my friend, I immediately became a fan!! "WHO IS DFinney Photography??" "How can I work with her??" Was my immediate thought! We then connected on Facebook and the rest is history! Here are some shots of every shoot that I've had with DFinney Photography so far, and let me tell you, we ALWAYS have a blast!! She is a joy to work with, we are like minded individuals and vibe that we have when we work together just works!! I have been truly blessed to have my work grace the lens of her camera, enjoy the photos!!

I am RAW: Natural Born Artist

There have been so many opportunities that have come my way as of late, and I have been truly blessed! As of late, I have been selected to be a RAW artist! RAW: Natural Born Artists is an organization that allows artists of all types (fashion, photography, hair, makeup, art) to be featured in a quarterly showcase to show their talents. (to learn more about RAW: Natural Born Artists **CLICK HERE** ) During these showcases, artists have the opportunity to connect/network with other artists in their city, and they also have the opportunity to be featured in other showcases held in the 50+ cities in the USA! I will be featured in the Washington, D.C. showcase on October 11, where I will collaborate with the fashion designer (hasn't been named yet) for a RAW Fashion Show! Where have you been???

This is a question I get asked a LOT!! My answer, "Working on making the world beautiful!!"...Man, I have been So blessed beyond measure and I know the best is yet to come!! Let's see...where should I start?? Firstly, I have been the Key Makeup Artist and Makeup Teacher for the Jaguar Players of Flowers High School, and this year's production was "From Soul Train to Motown". This play exceeded our expectations, and ended on a high note with a three-day encore weekend! The students were featured on our local station Fox 5 Morning News, on the Holly Morris "Live" segments, which aired throughout the broadcast. You even get a glimpse of me at the end of the broadcast. (video with the time 5:39 is where you'll see me) click here to watch the news segment!! I'm so proud to be a part of the productions coming out of  Flowers High School and I look forward to many many more! In addition to the drama productions, I've been working with an amaZING photographer by the name of Danielle Finney of DFinney Photography.  Just recently, we collaborated on a shoot for Mae of Natural Chica . Mae is just as beautiful inside as she is outside, and it was an honor and pleasure to be a part of this shoot.  Just this week I was surprised to discover that a photo from Mae's shoot has made the cover of curlBox  Magazine and Natural Hair sample subscription club! I can't wait to see what the rest of my year brings!!.  Much love as always.

So much has happened since I've updated my site. I've since learned that even when you have many talents, it's almost impossible to focus on three or four at a time.
